How the Panda Express entrée menu works
An entrée is the main dish you choose after selecting a meal format. A Bowl includes one entrée choice, a Plate includes two and a Bigger Plate includes three. The side is a separate component. An à la carte order uses its own container sizes and local pricing, so a small entrée price should not be treated as the price of a full Plate.
Start by choosing how much variety you want. If you already know your favorite, a Bowl keeps the decision simple. If you want contrasting flavors, a Plate lets you combine two dishes. With a Bigger Plate, use the third selection to add a different texture or protein instead of assuming that every extra scoop has the same nutritional value.
Chicken, beef and seafood choices
The chicken selection combines battered, grilled and vegetable-forward dishes. Orange Chicken offers a sweet, crisp option; Grilled Teriyaki Chicken has a grilled texture; Kung Pao Chicken adds peanuts and heat. Mushroom Chicken and String Bean Chicken Breast include vegetables with the chicken. These descriptions help you choose a flavor, but the actual recipe and local menu control the ingredients.
Beef options differ just as much. Beijing Beef has a crisp texture and a sweeter sauce, while Broccoli Beef pairs beef with vegetables in a savory sauce. Black Pepper Sirloin Steak and Honey Walnut Shrimp may carry an additional premium charge. Compare that charge within your selected meal format rather than assuming the standalone illustrated estimate covers the upgrade.
Regional and limited-time dishes
The illustrated menu includes dishes such as Eggplant Tofu, SweetFire Chicken, Shanghai Angus Steak, Beyond Orange Chicken and Cantonese BBQ Brisket. Keeping their images in this guide does not mean that every item is currently sold nationwide. Availability can be regional, seasonal or historical. The cards identify those examples so you can check the selected restaurant.
A dish with a similar name may also have a different recipe after a relaunch. Do not carry forward an old calorie value simply because the photograph looks familiar. If the current nutrition table does not establish a serving figure, this guide labels the nutrition as unverified instead of assigning a number from another entrée.
Choose the side alongside the entrée
Rice, Chow Mein and Super Greens make different complete meals. A strongly sauced entrée works differently with plain rice than with seasoned noodles. A vegetable base can add contrast to two rich entrées, while a rice or noodle base may better match the portion you want. Choose the base for your own preference rather than treating one combination as universally best.
For calories, add the base to each entrée serving and count separate sauce, appetizers and your drink. A mixed side needs the proportion of each base rather than two full-side figures. The standard published weights matter because a large family container, a party tray and a single entrée serving are different quantities.
Understand the illustrated prices
The numeric prices in this guide were estimates, including starting prices for standard and premium entrées. Each card identifies the price as an estimate. They are useful for comparing the kinds of charges that can appear, but they are not a current national price list or a quote from your restaurant.
Select your location on the official ordering website before deciding on a budget. Compare pickup and delivery totals separately, and include premium selections, tax and other displayed charges. If the final price differs from an illustrated card, the local checkout total is the relevant price for that order.
Build a combination with useful contrast
For a familiar sweet and savory combination, compare Orange Chicken with a grilled chicken option. For a different texture, compare a crisp beef dish with a vegetable-forward chicken dish. For heat, inspect Kung Pao Chicken and the actual ingredients rather than treating every red-colored sauce as spicy.
Keep ingredient concerns separate from flavor preferences. Peanuts, walnuts, shellfish, wheat, soy and other ingredients can matter to different people. Panda Express uses shared preparation equipment, so a vegetarian-looking dish or a low calorie value does not establish that it is suitable for an allergy or a strict dietary requirement.
Entrées prices and calories
Read the serving column before adding calories. A standard entrée, a complete meal and a large tray are different quantities. Supplied price estimates can differ between guides and locations.
